Reach partners with state and local agencies to provide gospel-centered, relationship-driven support to justice involved students as they navigate and exit the juvenile justice system by offering prevention, intervention, and reconciliation services. We equip every student with tangible hope and practical resources — no matter where they are in their journey.
Our Mission:
Creating second chances for justice-involved youth through Gospel-centered, relationship-driven diversion and intervention services.
Reach: Creating Off-Ramps for Restoration
Reach is a part of Lead Collective. We exist so that youth in under-resourced communities will experience the love of Christ and flourish for generations to come.
While the juvenile justice system often functions like a highway that is easy to enter and difficult to exit, Reach serves as a vital off-ramp. We partner with state and local agencies to provide Gospel-centered, relationship-driven support to justice-involved students. We equip every student with tangible hope and practical resources—no matter where they are in their journey.
Our Approach: Meeting Students Where They Are
Justice-involved youth often face a narrative of low expectations. At Reach, we flip that narrative. We provide the "relational glue" that keeps students engaged, helping them navigate the system and move toward a life of flourishing through three distinct pathways:
-
REACH PREVENTION: Serving students at the Sullivan Center to provide support before the system becomes a reality.
-
REACH INTERVENTION: Walking alongside students referred by the Department of Juvenile Justice to ensure a successful exit from the system.
-
REACH RECONCILIATION: A relationship-driven presence serving students within the Greenville County Youth Services Detention Center.
The Power of Persistent Relationship
Traditional punitive approaches rarely address the root causes of juvenile crime. At Reach, we address the individual story. By providing mental health support, academic guidance, and emotional coaching, we help students address the trauma and obstacles that lead to system involvement.
The impact of a mentor is measurable:
-
Completion, Not Attrition: While many expect justice-involved youth to fail, our program has a 95% graduation rate. Students stay because they find people who truly see them.
-
Breaking the Cycle: Reach graduates have a 74% lower recidivism rate than the state average for youth on probation.
-
A New Direction: In 2025, 94% of our graduates are on track to completely exit the juvenile justice system.
True flourishing isn't just about a change in location—it’s about a change in narrative. Whether our students are working to stay out of the justice system or finding their way through it, we provide the tangible hope and practical tools they need to thrive. We look beyond a student's legal status to their God-given potential, equipping them with the resilience, relational health, and vision they need to lead meaningful lives in any environment.
